B.E.A.R.S. Luncheon
WHAT A TREAT!
On Friday, August 4, 2023 the B.E.A.R.S. (Bonsor's Elderly Activities and Recreation Society) hosted a luncheon, and those invited to attend were indeed delighted both by the wonderful food, the enthusiasm, and camaraderies observed.
Approximately 12 members attended, and were already discussing their annual December sale at the Bonsor Recreation Center, and exhibiting some of their great needlework and knitting for this event. Traditionally they send this money to the Board with a list of the charities they wish to donate to. So good to see what a great effort to contribute to the community by one of our groups. Well done!
Bonsor 55+ Badminton Group
Bonsor 55+ Badminton Group are finalizing details for the annual registration for 2024, and details will be posted as soon as they are available. WE ARE ENCOURAGING MEMBERS TO CONSIDER JOINING THE EXECUTIVE OF THIS GROUP, as it is challenging to effectively maintain our program with the large numbers involved, and hold tournaments and social events for your enjoyment.
Snooker Group - Harvey Lee Trophy
Active as always, the Snooker Group initiated their annual in-house tournament, THE HARVEY LEE TROPHY last week, with a total of 32 very enthusiastic members participating.
As usual, they included a sumptuous luncheon with a great variety of goodies, and invited board members and staff to participate. Thirty matches were completed the first day, with an enthusiastic group of onlookers. It was lovely to see so many of our members having a great time, thanks to the planning and efforts of their executive.
Sing-Along Celebrates End of Spring Session
Approximately 40 participants and guests joined in to create a wonderful luncheon and much lively music to celebrate the end of their Spring Session. This activity has grown so much this year, partly due to the enthusiasm of the Group's leaders and wonderful talent of the musicians. They will convene again in the fall, and all are welcome.

Bonsor Snooker Group
Does any group have more tournaments, in-house competitions and fun than the SNOOKER Group? They recently went, on our Bonsor Bus, to a tournament, and luncheon - 25 members - and came home with the B trophy, and David Bernard and Cliff Watson won the Doubles Open Trophy. They are looking for people to train as referees, with the friendly, enthusiastic group, and welcome all inquiries for more information.
